Christmas in Idaho

Well, it's been a while since I've written! Aaron and abandoned all responsibility and cares and traveled to Idaho to spend 2 1/2 weeks with our families.

I intentionally forgot my camera ;) but my mom caught some fun pictures from the past few week so you can get a taste of our holiday break.

We spent the first few days in a condo in McCall with my family. We attempted to go sledding, but my brothers and husband picked a mountain side with boulders and tree trunks. Fortunately, they dodged all the obstacles and then lulled me into a false sense of security. I gave into peer pressure and hopped on the sled. Halfway down the hill I hit a stick that sent me right in the direction of the large boulder. I tried to bail off the sled before I hit it, but I was unsuccessful. I now have an orange-sized bruise on my right knee.
Luckily it was just my knee and not my belly or head.

The perfect sledding hill...

Snapped right before I hit the seemingly insignificant branch
After the sledding catastrophe, I stuck to low-impact activities, like snowshoeing (highly recommend!) and relaxing at a natural hot spring (we made sure it was under 100 degrees).

After more than a year, my little brother is still in denial that I am a married woman

McCall was absolutely gorgeous, a true "winter wonderland," as quote by my 9-year old nephew.

After spending a week in McCall, we spent the next week in Fruitland with Aaron's family. It was great to visit with Aaron's siblings and get to know them better :)

Aaron's sister Ashley is expecting a baby on July 8th, 6 days after ours is due! We're really excited that our little one will have a cousin so close in age.

As for other news, I am planning on giving the blog a makeover soon, but since I'm still battling morning sickness it may not be for a month or two. I'm hoping my hormones will settle down soon because school starts next Monday...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

  1. I'm so glad you're feeling better! Morning sickness is no fun. I spent most of last Christmas on the couch because I was so sick. Just think, this time next year, you'll have a 5 month old. =)
