Monday...

Most Sundays I go to bed feeling well rested and ready to take on the week.

Not last night. I sat in bed dreading the morning because it meant another week, starting with Monday, that is filled with busyness. Here's a few reasons I'm dreading this week:

  • I don't have a single meal planned for this week.
  • I'm fatigued, tired, exhausted, and whatever synonyms there are for half-alive.
  • Starting every weekday at 6 am and being on campus from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
  • Walking to and from campus in slushy snow, ice, and toxic fog.
  • my first reading assignment for the week starts out like this:
"The term “agency” is quite slippery and is used differently depending on the epistemological roots and goals of scholars who employ it. Distressingly, the sociological
literature on the concept rarely addresses relevant social psychological research. We
take a social behaviorist approach to agency by suggesting that individual temporal orientations are underutilized in conceptualizing this core sociological concept.
Different temporal foci—the actor’s engaged response to situational circumstances—
implicate different forms of agency. This article offers a theoretical model involving
four analytical types of agency (“existential,” “identity,” “pragmatic,” and “life
course”) that are often conflated across treatments of the topic..."
Yet, there are still some good things to look forward to:
  • Phantom of the Opera (BYU performance)
  • Prenatal visit (I always look forward to hearing the heartbeat!)
  • Indoor cycling class every Tuesday and Thursday
  • Babysitting our neighbor's adorable baby
And I can't forget some highlights from last week!
  • Buying the Britax B-Agile travel system for our baby.
  • Aaron attended a community sponsored Conscious Father class--and really enjoyed it!
  • Eating dinner at Adobos in Sandy, UT; authentic Caribbean food and very tasty.
  • Shopping at the new outlet malls in Lehi. We got Aaron 2 pairs of dress pants, 3 dress shirts, and 2 ties from Banana republic, and the total was only $130!! Thank you employee discount.
Do you have something fun planned for this week? Or are you dreading it? ;)

  1. I hope your week goes well! I like reading your blog, I just came across it last week.
This week is my second week in college, so it's just homework and class time for me. My husband and I celebrate Friday nights with dinner out after a long week :)
