Wow. I found this spot remover recipe online and I'm in love. I've been singing "You Sexy Thing" all morning. If you've ever had a stain that seems it will never come out and you've been forced to accept it as a less-than-classy decal on your favorite t-shirt then you need to try this. Right now. Just do it, I promise you won't regret it (unless of course you actually like your new look...)
I have some pants that I spilled greasy pizza on, and of course a few white shirts with pit stains (sorry, too much information). And now I don't look like a greasy slob and I have white shirts that are actually white. This makes me happy.
Did I mention that the pants were washed AND dried? Ok, I'm done. You must try this stain remover.
Mix a 1:2 ratio of Dawn dish soap and hydrogen peroxide (1 part soap, 2 parts HP).
Put on stain and watch it disappear. For those stubborn, washed-in stains I put the remover on the stain, let it sit for a few minutes, rinsed, and repeated.

Is this color safe? I know peroxide can bleach things...
ReplyDeleteYes, I've also heard that it can bleach clothing. However, the hydrogen peroxide that you get at a regular grocery store is a mixture of 3% HP (hydrogen peroxide) and 97% water. This solution is not strong enough to bleach clothes. If you use the solution that is 30% HP it would be strong enough to bleach your clothes. I use this stain remover all the time on my clothing and I haven't had any bleaching effects because I only use the 3% solution :)
